"One of the most beautiful villages in France": Lauzerte account since April 1990 among the villages classified as "most beautiful villages of France", villages selected for the quality of their heritage, their architecture and their environment. The acquisition of the label is the subject of a rigorous selection process. It is never final, constant efforts are required to retain the title.

"Stop on the Way of Saint Jacques de Compostela: Lauzerte, whose etymology means light, be informed, appears like a mirage pilgrims pacing the way to Saint Jacques de Compostela since Montcuq. Historical path, legendary, spiritual and socio-cultural confluence, Via Podiensis is traversed by a hiking trail, the GR 65, from Le Puy-en-Velay. The Pilgrim's Garden:

This unique development traces the history and initiatory journey of the pilgrimage to Saint Jacques de Compostela.
The garden appears like a game of goose. A path dotted with boxes and numbered panels allows players or walkers to move around following stages that tell the story of the daily life of the pilgrim: hospitality, notion of chance, joys and sorrows, trials and difficulties, bad encounters and happiness, to finally reach "in Paradise", end of the game. The order of the stages is similar to the game of goose: you must first cross the water, the prison is after the inn, the well is before the bridge, death is after the prison… to arrive at the end of the journey in Santiago de Compostela. The garden is made up of enameled lava panels featuring photos taken, for the most part, on the Voie du Puy, verses of songs (from the 11th to the 18th century), the key words of which are translated into four languages (French, Occitan, English, Spanish) and the tests to be completed by the player. The vegetation, chosen according to its medieval symbolism, illustrates the adventure mentioned on the panel.
Various awards: Midi-Pyrénées Architecture Prize, 2003 winner - Special mention from the jury, "A Landscape in Heritage" trophies 2003 - 1st prize in the 2001 Midi-Pyrénées Cultural Tourism trophies.

Pontet de la Gandilhonne: Lauzerte distinguished herself during the Hundred Years' War. A legend tells that an old lady living in this place, with the predestined name of Gandilhonne (she who saves), while she was going about her daily activities, was challenged by the enemy who was leaving the town in small groups. Illiterate, she nevertheless had the idea of counting them by putting as many stones or chestnuts (?) in her apron as there were soldiers going out, then she went to warn the consuls who decided to close the city gates. Thus, Lauzerte would have been one of the first cities in Quercy to free themselves from the English. The name of Gandilhonne remained in memory of this episode.
The chapel of Saint Sernin du Bosc: This Romanesque chapel, which is at least eleven centuries old, is a rich heritage of the commune. Located on the paths to Santiago de Compostela, it is visited by many pilgrims and hikers who leave moving written testimonies of gratitude for all those who mobilized for the restoration. The last religious service was celebrated in this chapel in 1973 by Father Déjean. The chapel was classified as a "Historic Monument" in 1995. The adjoining meadow was purchased in 1994 by the municipality of Lauzerte.
Of Earth and Fire:

The raised corner of Place des Cornières: original, unusual, it leaves no one indifferent. Artistic creation created at the end of 1988 with sandstone paving stones, limestone borders, a 4-ton cantilevered reinforced concrete structure and industrial tiling. "A square of light, in the middle of a bastide, a square of stones and earth assembled in a grid of paving stones. A mineral square - raised at an angle as if under a gust of wind determining on the ground a shimmer of colors, for better illuminate the gaze - raised at an angle like a rise towards the sky. A call towards other dreams, a springboard towards the supernatural. You have to know how to let yourself be carried away and simply feel the emotion."

Manimopark, in Montabarla: Come and discover the diverse animals of the educational farm in Montbarla. Located in Tarn-et-Garonne, near one of the most beautiful villages in France "Lauzerte", between Cahors, Agen and Montauban. Laid out over nearly 3 hectares, here is a real discovery activity to observe and feed atypical animals. Move through the aisles, observe animals of all origins. You can feed the animals in the morning from 10 a.m. to noon with fruits and vegetables from the garden. Manimopark combines discovery of the domestic animal world and leisure activities for all, teenagers and toddlers. Wooden games are arranged for your enjoyment. Finally, if you are looking for a species for your pleasure or as an ecological mower, keep yourself informed of the availability of the breeding.
Roc des Nobis, in Roquecor: The Roc des Nobis is a troglodyte site which visitors can access via a landscaped path. Bordered by shrubs, flowers and plants of various species, this passage is considered a park in its own right on the edge of the village of Roquecor, even if it is only a few tens of meters long. "Lou Roc des Nobis" below the village under the cliff, lets a mysterious legend hover around it: "at the dawn of the Middle Ages, a very beautiful wedding took place in the church of Saint-Martin de Roquecor. peasants and knights, all gathered around a large table, feasting under the ramparts of the castle. Suddenly, with a terrible crash, an enormous rock was detached, the betrothed and their guests, were engulfed forever. This rock and the where it came off are still visible.
