The former lordship of the Dukes of Bourbon, the charming medieval village of Verneuil-en-Bourbonnais is full of picturesque character. Supremely peaceful, this pleasant village surrounded by greenery is dotted with pretty old houses. The remains of the old castle, the Church of Our Lady on the Water which was built in the 10th and 11th centuries and regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, and the old Collegiate Church of St. Peter built in the 12th, 14th and 15th centuries, will complete your tour of the area.

Things to do: the scarecrow walk in July and August, a fun and unusual tour during which you can admire the amazing scarecrows made by the villagers! And for a meal break, feel free to drop by the Motte Coquet, a peaceful and verdant area where you can discover the Sleeping Giant...
