North Town, region Hauts-de-France, Bavay takes place between Valenciennes and Maubeuge, in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Avesnois. It is located in the former French region of Hainaut, near Saint-Waast, Audignies and Amfroipret.

Former capital of the Nervii, the Gallo-Roman times, the old Bagacum developed in the Middle Ages under the influence of Hainaut County. Fortified in the thirteenth century, it becomes the seat of provost. Became part of the Burgundian Netherlands in the fifteenth century, Bavay then experienced a very prosperous economic times. Attached to the kingdom of France in the late seventeenth century, the town takes little by little the pleasant face and charming that he now knows.

Popular with passing visitors, the city of Bavay seduced by the richness of its historical heritage and its dynamism.
