The Regional Nature Park of Cotentin and Bessin Marshes

The Regional Natural Park of Cotentin and Bessin is ideal for nature walks and the discovery of traditional crafts. A multitude of birds nest there in the year but the season of October is the most interesting to observe the migratory species that come winter.

The Regional Natural Park of Cotentin and Bessin is also agricultural traditions: the design Marais which begins in spring and ends in the fall. This ritual of releasing cattle and horses preserves the quality of pastures. The animals were previously marked by breeders and under the supervision of guards marshes.

Wetlands are a place where prevailing beliefs and superstitions: there would formerly practiced witchcraft and the last trial date of 1669.

At the Park House, the interpretive trail from 2 to more than 5 km, can observe the birds. Access to the reserve can be by boat or with a tour guide.
