About fifteen kilometres from Boulogne-sur-Mer, the small town of Desvres in Pas-de-Calais has been keeping a tradition alive since the 18th century: faience pottery. The town is indeed renowned for its talented master faience-makers and their reproduction of old decorations. In fact, as you explore the town, you can admire many faience signs adorning the streets.
Located in a building decorated with blue and white tiles, the Museum of Ceramics offers a beautiful collection of creations and tells the story of earthenware from its origins to the present day.
