Villa Champallement

The small village of Champallement (50 inhabitants) is located in Burgundy in the heart of the Nièvre department, 50 km northeast of Nevers between Vézelay and Sancerre. It is a very quiet, sparsely populated hilly area with many views. On the small c-roads with hardly any traffic you can enjoy cycling and walking. A beautiful place on top of a rock surrounded by authentic farmland interspersed with forests, sunflower and grain fields. Here you will find tranquil medieval villages and towns with their castles. Every village has a flea market in season. 30 minutes away is the pilgrim's satd Vézelay on the edge of the beautiful Morvan Natural Park. At 15 minutes are lakes where you can sail and swim. The Nivernais canal is 15 minutes away along which you can cycle, walk or sail across with a rented boat. At 45 minutes is the wine region along the Loire with beautiful towns such as Nevers, La Charité-sur-Loire, Pouilly-sur-Loire and the famous Sancerre. There are several restaurants 15 minutes away in Corbigny, Baye-Bazolles and Clamecy and several "p'tit resto's" along the canal-de-Nivernais.
