History: Attached September 3, 1301 (Philip the Fair) to the kingdom of France by charter signed between the King's representative and the Council of Inhabitants of the Town. This charter was ratified two other times. Abeilhan, therefore, was no longer "subject to the bailiff of Servian or otherwise ...", and of course had to pay rent to the royal treasury in detaching themselves from the tutelage of the village next door who became the capital of Canton.
