Charming town of Hauts-de-France, about thirty kilometers from Lille, Auby takes place on the edge of Pas-de-Calais, in the center of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais mining basin. Known for hosting the Compagnie des mines de l'Escarpelle in the last century, it has preserved many vestiges of this industrial past.
