Located in the Côtes-d'Armor, in the heart of the Brittany region, the town of Belle-Isle-en-Terre takes place in the Pays du Trégor, about fifty kilometers from Saint-Brieuc.
Belle-Isle-en-Terre was born in the twelfth century with the founding of a monastery on the Locmaria site by monks who came straight from Belle-Île-en-Mer. Land of welcome for crusaders and pilgrims, the town will take its final name in the second half of the eighteenth century.
Very touristy, the Breton city of Belle-Isle-en-Terre has preserved from its rich years an architectural heritage of great interest.
