Beuvry is a commune in Pas-de-Calais region in Hauts-de-France, east of Bethune which it borders.
Its territory of about 17 km² area that crosses the channel is urbanized south but remains green on both third "north", where agriculture could be a thriving business after the wetlands and marshes were drained.
Old possession of the house of Artois and the Dukes of Burgundy, the lordship of Beuvry erected in castellany becomes property of the family Ghistelles until the Revolution.
Agricultural (flax cultivation) and the exploitation of sandstone boost the local economy until the eighteenth century and Demography Beuvry knows when a boom develops after 1860 coal basin. The urban fabric of Beuvry is then an extension of that of Bethune as a working city.
In the 1990s, the two towns are the remains merged Beuvry time but regained its independence before 2000.
In addition to its heritage, the town of about 9700 inhabitants highlights its cultural and leisure offer "nature" in a protected environment in a region otherwise marked by its industrial past.
In terms of heritage, the town has several monuments and sites of interest to most highlighted and accessible to the public.
And include the Church of St. Martin and its imposing bell tower, whose foundations date back to the sixteenth century, or the water mill rebuilt in 1811 on the basis of a first wooden building. These two sites are protected as historical monuments, like the manor Estrasselle, in a wooded area surrounded once marshes, which was originally a medieval house with strong defensive elements (drawbridge enclosed courtyard with two gates, high room with loopholes). The main building was embellished and enlarged in the seventeenth century. Beginning in the 1970s, the house and annexes farms have been the subject of a long restoration.
Another castle farm, called the Belle Foriere, is also listed on the Inventory.
Finally, besides the British military cemeteries honor the sacrifices of allied troops in both world wars, the former provost of Gore which remain a chapel and a farm "discovery" (the castle whose foundations dated from the eleventh century has unfortunately disappeared) and Quinty park and chapel are still to be seen on a walk dedicated to heritage.

In terms of the offer cultural leisure Beuvry has different attractions. Side sports "nature", Beuvry has amenities and perfectly suitable and equipped premises.
Near the river port and marina, on an arm of the canal, the marina of the Jules Weppe street allows canoeing, kayaking and paddle (information +33 3 21 54 85 89 or June 31 75 70 95). Note that outdoor fitness area for guests near the base.
In the city are accessible to visitors and tourists a skate park and a city park, as well as tennis courts (reservation with the local club +33 6 75 86 53 07).

Beuvry finally a paradise for hikers wishing to join pleasure of walking and discoveries.
Marais circuit on the theme of ancient marshes (12 km) and the circuit of Building (8 km) are excellent examples. One can supplement them with exits organized by the local club (contact June 14 96 44 79).
On the domain bellenville, otherwise (where is located the house of Poetry), awareness of trails for wildlife and flora of wetlands have been marked on some 60 hectares.
Finally, on the Gore provost of the site, the farm and its dovecote became a space dedicated to the environment and ecosystems specific territory. A hiking trail is also available there.
