The Bordeaux -Saint- Jean station is the largest railway station in the Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes region, 3 hours from Paris, journey time to be reduced to 2:05 or so after the commissioning of the LGV Sud Europe Atlantique scheduled for July 31, 2017.
The station, with its metal canopy covering the tracks, the subject of a registration as a historic monument since 1984.
