Briouze is a country of fairs and markets for more than 1000 years. Its great St. Catherine Fair in November, the Rogations in the spring and its market for calves on Monday make it famous.
Also at Briouze, the Marsh of the Big Haze which extends on 200 hectares. The great diversity of natural environments: ponds, peat bogs, reed beds, peaty wood... gives this site full of stories and legends, an exceptional wealth. We discover an original fauna and flora, sometimes very rare: carnivorous plants, water birds... We also meet unexpected managers: Camargue horses and Scottish cattle responsible for the maintenance of the marsh. Fragile place, classified Natura 2000, it can be visited only in the presence of a guide. However, it is possible to walk along the Val du Breuil stream all year round and to go to the observatory to observe the birds and aquatic animals.
Rogation fair on Sunday and Monday before Ascension: fair at all, garage sale.
Art-Sonic Festival the 3rd weekend of July (Friday and Saturday nights): rock music festival.
Fair Sainte Catherine Sunday and Monday before St. Catherine fair to all, fair trees.
Every Monday from 8h to 14h, weekly market and calf market at the bell (11h15).
