After the separation of Church and State in 1905, the circumstances did not lend themselves to the construction of a church, but the village did not have one. It was decided to build one, certainly a modest one, with the help of the miners and the population. Built with materials from the mine, which makes it a very special building, which is closer to an industrial building than a place of worship, it was inaugurated in 1910. A vast nave and a high rectangular hall with 7 bays, 7 windows and a single floor to ceiling. In 1948, the parish priest, Louis Cabrol had organized a collection to repatriate the big bell of St Dalmaze. The surplus from this quest allowed the interior of the church to be painted.
These paintings by Nicolas Greschny decorating the choir and the entrance wall of the nave make it an exceptional place.
