Located in the Var, in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region, the aerodrome of Fayence-Tourrettes is located 1.5 km from Fayence and Tourrettes. Seat of the gliding club, the Association Aeronautic Provence Côte d'Azur, it extends over forty-five hectares and reveals three tracks in grass.
The aerodrome of Fayence-Tourrettes was born in September 1929 by decree of the President of the Republic, Gaston Doumergue, and the Minister of War, André Maginot. Occupied by Germans and Italians between 1940 and 1944, he was liberated by American troops on August 15 of the same year. It has today become the first European gliding center.
