Commune of Oise, on the Picard Plateau, Grandvilliers takes place at about thirty kilometers from Beauvais, not far from Sarnois and Saint-Maur. It is located at a hundred kilometers from the capital, and forty kilometers from Amiens and its famous cathedral.
According to local historians, Grandvilliers would take its name from an ancient ancient villa destroyed by the Huns in the fifth century. Property of the abbey of Saint-Lucien in the thirteenth century, the town is almost completely destroyed in the late seventeenth century following a major fire. It was then heavily hit by bombing during the Second World War before experiencing a major reconstruction campaign between the late 1940s and the 1950s.
Today, the municipality of Grandvilliers continues to attract visitors with its architectural heritage as well as its proximity to some of the most beautiful cities in the region.
