Things to see and do

Overlooking the Cher valley, the oppidum of Murettes said "Caesar's Camp" shows the occupation of the site from the Middle Neolithic (Chasséen), about 4500-4000 BC. BC, by farmers and breeders. It is strengthened by an enclosure having a mound of earth and stones surmounted by a wooden fence and preceded outside of a ditch. The occupation continues in the Bronze Age and early Iron Age, where the wall is reinforced. After the Roman conquest, the site was abandoned in favor of the Gallo-Roman Derventum agglomeration (in Drevant), established on the opposite bank of the Cher. He freely visit all year.

The limestone hill of Groutte, opened its western flank, provided the nineteenth century building stones as well as the raw material for many lime kilns on site and nearby. The house of lime burner houses an exhibition on prehistoric times from May to October.

Hiking trails that line the town can discover the local fauna and flora and a lawn calcicole where orchids grow wild.
