Located between Pau and Monein, this village is one step of the way to St Jacques de Compostela. Indeed, this pilgrimage gained momentum in the 11th century, so Gaston IV, Viscount of Bearn Lacommande built to a halt for the pilgrims. It was a set that includes both a "hospital" (instead allowing both to accommodate, feed and care for passengers) and a place of worship. They called these commanderies relay.

The Commandery and the garden cemetery founded between 1100 and 1124, the Commandery was the centerpiece of the network of hospitals set up by Gaston IV. The cemetery contains headstones beautiful discoidal, these mysterious stones of Basque origin, which is unique in Béarn, some of which are crosses patty.
The Church of St. Blaise: A jewel of Romanesque art: the apse is richly decorated with capitals representing mythological, biblical and everyday life.
