Located between Pau and Monein, this village is one step of the way to St Jacques de Compostela. Indeed, this pilgrimage gained momentum in the 11th century, so Gaston IV, Viscount of Bearn Lacommande built to a halt for the pilgrims. It was a set that includes both a "hospital" (instead allowing both to accommodate, feed and care for passengers) and a place of worship. They called these commanderies relay.
