The golf Nîmes Campaign is located south of the city on a site steeped in history. From the thirteenth century, Templars of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem occupy an abbey where they rest at the return of the crusades.
At the turn of the 1900s, a wealthy banker bought the property to make it a hunting estate and erected a style residence that incorporates White House architecture in Washington.
This singular building is now the clubhouse of golf.
The Nîmes Golf Campaign was indeed created in the 1960s by a group of sports and sports enthusiasts in general who have acquired the estate. It is an association that manages and animates it now.
A first 9-hole course was inaugurated in 1969, the other nine in 1970. The ensemble was designed by architects Léonard Morandi and Donald Harradine. This 18 hole course on a set of 54 wooded and hilly acres is 6000 m long (par 72) and is considered technical and difficult by specialists, but pleasant from the environment.
The Nîmes Campagne golf course also has a small "Pitch & Putt" course near the clubhouse dedicated to experienced players wishing to work the shots of less than 100 m, but also to beginners. A driving range, putting-greens are also arranged.
Besides golf, the resort which is popular for its proximity to the city center includes a swimming pool and tennis courts.
