Nogent-sur-Vernisson

Open since the mid-1980s, the National Barres arboretum unveils more than 2,700 species of trees from five continents. In this area of ​​thirty-five hectares, it is possible to admire a redwood and a ginkgo biloba.

Several ponds also take place on the territory of the municipality of Nogent-sur-Vernisson, the latter offering several hiking trails. Do not miss to go in the woods of Boula and Mivoie.

Former forestry school and current headquarters of the IFN, the National Forest Inventory, Castle Barres is a beautiful building of the nineteenth century.

You can admire, in the town, the church of St. Martin built in the second half of the nineteenth century on the remains of the original building of the twelfth century. Not far away, let yourself be seduced by the ruins of Notre-Dame de Chauffour chapel from the 12th and 13th centuries.

The market is held every Thursday morning. A farmers' market is also offered on the second Sunday of the month, in the morning, between April and October.

A parade of floats is organized in March for the carnival.

In June, St. John's Day offers a torchlight procession and the traditional fire. The next day, the city organizes a flea market.
