The Chamber of Commerce Orléans was founded in April 1803. Having become later the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Loiret, she was sheltered from 1902 to May 2019 in a building located at 23 Place du Martroi, to Orléans.
This is a copy built in 1864 Chancellery built in 1754 by the Duke of Orléans, on the same spot on the other side of the Rue Royale (now this building is commercial and housing).
Before hosting the Chamber of Commerce, the Building No. 23 instead dominated by a Joan of Arc equestrian statue was occupied by the Army and received the grant from the city.
The building is included in the Inventory for the quality of the facade of neo-classical style and its roof. Note that on the pediment, were carved two allegories referring to the trade and industry, below the arms of the city.
Since May 2019, the seat of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Orléans was transferred to the business area "Interive" in Fleury-les-Aubrais. The building of Orléans was sold to a developer who has plans to develop shops at ground floor and transform floors into housing.
The furniture and works of art that decorated the premises of the room, Martroi square, were sold at auction.
The facade of the building that housed the chamber of commerce may stake a free ride or guided tour of this historic district, partly pedestrian, the center of the city. Information at +33 2 38 24 05 05.
