Parpeville Castle was built in 1722 by John Macquerel, lord of Quesmy and Parpeville on the site of a fortified castle, dismantled during the war of the Fronde in 1657 (at the same time than Ribemont). Macquerel John was a member of an ancient Picardy family who owned several areas in the region.
The castle consists of a main building with two wings Returns square is classic. Classical architecture is an ideal of order and reason. Elegance and simplicity are at the castle Parpeville by the combination of brick and white stone, and the slate roof to Mansart. Facade and roofs are also listed as a Historical Monument by Decree of 3 February 1928.
The castle belongs to the same family since its construction.
