Village Centre - Loire Valley, in the Loir-et-Cher department, Pierrefitte-sur-Sauldre is in the Sologne, near Lamotte- Beuvron. It owes its name to a menhir erected on the territory of the commune. Pierrefitte-sur-Sauldre is part of the very closed circle of the most beautiful floral villages and towns of France, thanks to the greenery and the many flowers and other plants that brighten the streets of the town.
The village has a beautiful architectural and historical heritage, reflecting the traditions of ancient natural region of Sologne. Nice and quiet, it enjoys an idyllic setting in which to spend time. Once crossed by the old Roman road linking Chartres in Bourges via Orléans, today it is centered on tourism offering various activities, and an attachment to tradition.
