Things to see and do

The Petit Vauridel menhir is today the only megalith still visible in the town of Plaintel. Listed as a Historic Monument, this Neolithic monument is in the form of a rounded menhir 1.55 m high and 1.55 m wide. It is entirely in granite.

Rebuilt in the 18th century, the Saint-Yves chapel reveals in its interior murals of biblical inspiration produced by the Hubert de Sainte-Marie workshop in the 1970s. The site is notably known for having been the theatre, in 1815, of a fight between a Republican column and Chouans. While strolling through the town, you can also discover the chapel of Saint-Quihouët from the beginning of the 19th century and dedicated to cultural events, the cross of Saint-Quihouët or the chapel of Notre-Dame du Beau Chemin rebuilt in the 19th century.

Several old noble houses are also visible in Plaintel like the 16th century Créhenny manor, the 16th century Trébua castle, the 15th century Bois Faucheur manor, the 17th century Cargléhen manor, the farm islands of the 17th century or the remains of the Crapado manor.

Several marked hiking trails are also accessible in and around the town, allowing you to discover the surrounding nature and the rich heritage of the area, such as the Chaos du Gouët circuit.
