Municipality of Gironde and link between Aquitaine and the former Poitou-Charentes region, Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde takes place about sixty kilometers from Bordeaux, in the middle of hillsides, wet meadows, forests and vineyards. It is located not far from Saint-Palais, Reignac and Anglade.
The one that was once called Saint-Ciers-la-Lande took its current name at the beginning of the 20th century. Populated since the Gallo-Roman era and quickly appreciated for the quality of its vines, the town developed strongly in the 18th and 19th centuries, in particular thanks to its privileged geographical location and its proximity to some of the most beautiful seaside resorts in the region..
Today, Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde continues to seduce visitors with its charm and the quality of its gastronomy through culinary specialties as famous as asparagus, wines of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation or its fish from the Estuary.
A very beautiful little port is visible at the Port des Callonges with just next door an ornithological site "Terres d'Oiseaux" which coexists with the intercommunal Tourist Office.
