Charming village of Loir-et-Cher, in the Center region - Val de Loire, Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire takes place a few kilometers from the famous Chateau de Chambord and that of Blois. It is located on the left bank of the Loire, a region world heritage of UNESCO, near Thoury, and Avaray Courbouzon.
The town owes its name to Déodat, a fifth-century hermit, experiencing significant growth in the Middle Ages, thanks to its port and its rich river trade or proximity to nearby forests. However, it saw a significant decline in the fourteenth century and in the abandonment of Chambord castle by Louis XV.
