Between Sologne, Champagne Berry and Pays Fort stretches the town of Saint-Martin-d'Auxigny.
Located about fifteen kilometers from Bourges, not far from Saint-Palais, Menetou-Salon and Soulangis, the town which suffered the Norman invasions in the 9th century saw the construction of a castle by Louis VII. Having become a hunting residence for the kings of France, it was destroyed in the 16th century during the wars of religion.
Known for having welcomed Scottish archers who came to assist King Charles VII during the Hundred Years War, Saint-Martin-d'Auxigny remains today a place appreciated for its calm and natural setting.
