Charming small town of Morbihan, Brittany, Saint-Philibert takes place about thirty kilometers from the tourist town of Vannes. It is located on the bay of Quiberon, close to La Trinité-sur-Mer, Locmariaquer and Poemel.

Saint-Philibert The town was born in 1892 in territories previously belonging to Locmariaquer. Populated for centuries, the site was known for his very attractive port in the eighteenth and nineteenth century. Today, the Breton town is mainly known for visitors because of its exceptional scenery and its vibrant tourism activity and expanding. It also boasts an ideal location for exploring some of the most beautiful places in the region.

Things to see and do

Dubbed the Chapel, the Church of Our Lady of the Nativity was built on the banks of the water in the middle of the seventeenth century. Originally built as the time fisherman's house, it was later converted and extended, including the extension of the north transept in the 1950 Inside, you will discover with pleasure an altarpiece eighteenth century decorated with a romantic painting of the legend of saint Philibert. Starry, ceiling deserves a look, as are the stained glass detailing visitors oyster farming and the town. Not far away, be sure to go see the fountains of the seventeenth and eighteenth century.

Built on the orders of Napoleon III in 1860, the fort Kernevest was originally a military battery of coastal surveillance. Today the site is home including a sailing school.

Strolling in the territory of the municipality, you can also admire the lighthouse built in the mid-nineteenth century or the many megaliths. These are accessible via various marked hiking trails. If you want to enjoy sunny days, seduced by the beaches of the municipality with those of Kernevest and Men Er Beleg that attract many visitors in summer.

The weekly market is held every Saturday morning.

In August, animations instead of St. Phil party. A fireworks is particularly proposed.

A parish fair is also available in August with refreshments and musical entertainment.
