Municipality of Moselle, in the Grand Est region, Terville takes place about thirty kilometers from Metz, at the gates of Thionville. It is located in the Thionville region, not far from the Luxembourg border and Florange.

Mentioned in history as early as the 7th century, the commune of French Luxembourg has developed over the centuries, notably thanks to its seigneurial castle destroyed during a siege by the Messins at the end of the 14th century. Nicknamed the King's Quarter because the Grand Condé established his headquarters there in the middle of the 17th century, the town of Terville has retained from its rich past an architectural and historical heritage of great interest to discover the region during a stay.

Things to see and do

Built in the second half of the 15th century, the old Saint-Sébastien chapel was built into a parish church in the 18th century before being completely destroyed in the middle of the 19th century. Rebuilt in 1862, it has hosted the city's media library since the 2010s.

Nearby, it is also possible to admire the Saint-Sébastien church built in the 1930s by the architect Alfred Nasousky to replace the old chapel which had become too narrow.

While strolling in the town, you will be able to also admire the various calvaries which mark it out before discovering the vestiges of the old Roman road, the Merovingian burials or a door of the beginning of the XVIIIth century in the lower street.
