Légendes, Voix de Femmes, Harpes et Cors [ Festival de Saint-Céré ]
- On 4 august 2024
- Under the impetus of young conductor Guillemette Daboval, the Esquisses ensemble invests the magical repertoire of the distinctive women's choir formation. Transcended by Brahms with his four songs from Op. 17, a jewel of the women's choir repertoire, this program features a cappella pieces or those accompanied exclusively on harp, with arrangements that include horns in each piece - Based on ancient Renaissance texts, fairy tales, legends, poetry or religious texts, each of these words will fascinate the imagination. From German Romanticism to contemporary music, from modesty to exaltation, from confidence to anxiety, from passion to contemplation, this program is full of contrasts - Although Esquisses' first CD has already won several awards (Télérama, Classica, QOBUZ…), it is in concert that this work, astonishing in its ambition, is most appreciated
