The Aussois Background, dams at the refuge

Depart from the town of Aussois, latitude 45.2542700 (N 45° 15’ 15”), longitude 6.7246100 (E 6° 43’ 29”)

• Departure of the hike

• In the village of Aussois, take the direction of the dams and climb for 7 km (narrow but tarred road, do not hesitate to honk - no bus route). Park in the car park at the foot of Plan d'Amont dam. Free parking.

• Seteria Bridge

• Here, you enter the Vanoise National Park. Animals are forbidden, even on a leash. Pass over the bridge over the bottom stream of Aussois and continue on the path towards the Aussois Fond Hut and Aussois Pass.

• Our Lady of the Angels Chapel

• Formerly, the alpine chalets of Fond de Aussois were inhabited all summer and we went to pray at the chapel.

• Arrival at the Refuge of the Fond of Aussois

• After one to two hours of walking and 300m of vertical drop, the Aussois Fond refuge welcomes you at the foot of the Aussois Pass. Lunch and dinner focusing on local produce and organic seasonal. Sleeping capacity of 42 beds.
