Betton: Hiking the Plank

Depart from the town of Betton, latitude 48.1820900 (N 48° 10’ 56”), longitude -1.6405100 (W 1° 38’ 26”)

• Departure

• From the starting point, follow the banks of the canal, on the town hall side. One can observe the wet meadows of the Fountain William. Pass the Lock of the Brushes.

• Out of the canal

• Travel 600 m and turn left across the small bridge that spans the canal's ditch. Continue on the operating path and then on the paved road that must be followed between the dwellings to the crossroads. Turned right.

• The Grand Court

• Longer the road for 400 m passing in front of the wood-paneled house of the Grand Cour and then, embark on the bocager trail on the left, facing the High Finvert. At the intersection with another bocager path, climb to the left and descend to the edge of fields.

• Le Champ Roussel

• The path leads to the godroned road from Champ Roussel to la Planchette, which is taken on the left. In the turn, engage right on the grassy path and descend to the stream. THE crossing on the bridge. Pass the inkère at the place called "The Brageaux" and continue straight on the tree-lined road, to the street of Cornwall. At the crossroads, go across and continue straight to the city centre.

• Variant - channel return

• Walking down to the city centre, at the road to the left of the peaceful Rue du Clos, it is possible to cross the small housing estate of Riquenon and return to the towpath

• City Centre

• Walk to the church and take the stairs. At the crossroads, continue in front and cross the car park on the left to reach the Theodore Monod media library. Follow it and take the path that runs along the water to reach the starting point.
