During the walk, you will see the lighthouse, the estuary of Merrien, the guardhouse, the wild coast, the port of Brigneau, the bread oven, sequoias, a turret, the mill l'Abbé or the port from Merrien.

Itinerary

Signposting: 1. Departure from the car park of the right bank of the Merrien cove.

Take a small path that will take you to the lighthouse. The path will first take you to the lighthouse and then lead to the Merrien estuary. Travel along the estuary to Beg Ward Point. Leave the coastal path for a few moments to discover this special little house overlooking the ocean. This is the Fort Houard that here we call "the House of Customs" monitoring the coast appreciated by traffickers of all kinds.

Join the customs trail. You can then observe on the rocks stairs formerly used by the seaweeds. You see the island of Groix.

You will then arrive on the tip of Vaz Couz and the beach of Graounec (bathing is dangerous!) Eternally heckled by the ocean. The trail then winds up to Poulguen. There the ground is sprinkled with multiple flickers of mica.

On the way now for the port of Brigneau. At the mouth of the estuary on the right bank you can see the remains of the old cannery of Malachappe (circuit n ° 5). It is now time to leave the sea for a parenthesis on the ground.

You reach the village of Kermeurzach then you will come back to Poulguen where you will leave the coastal path. Hollow roads and old roads drive through a beautiful forest of hardwoods. At the bend of the road, you will be surprised by the bread oven Kerel.

You will now enter the wood of Placamen in the middle of which stand two giant redwoods planted in 1962. It is now time to join mill Abbot whose alas the wheel today no longer runs.

You discover the bottom of the estuary where lies the wreck of an old sardine boat. At low tide, the egrets come to make their market there. The boats are becoming more numerous. The port is near. At the end of the path, a wooden bench awaits you for a well deserved rest. Take the time to enjoy a last view of the mouth of the estuary.
