Greziolles lake and campana refuge

Depart from the town of Campan, latitude 42.9266400 (N 42° 55’ 36”), longitude 0.2030400 (E 0° 12’ 11”)

• Step 1

• From the car park, cross the torrent on a bridge, cross on a flat area (picnic tables) and then go up to the right by a wide path along the torrent.

• Step 3

• To continue towards Lake Campana follow the GR10c, the trail reaches an intersection at an electricity pylon.

• Step 4

• Follow the path (GR10c) to the right. It crosses a vast plateau, passes a small gorge and continues southwards. Cross the torrent on the footbridge (close the gate tightly) and start a long climb to reach the dike of the Lac des Lacquets.

• Step 5

• Walk along the lake on the right, then climb up to the foot of the Lac de Gréziolles reservoir. Continue east. The trail climbs among hook pines and rhododendrons high up the lake shore. At the end, cross the spillway of Lake Superior and climb the hairpin bends that lead to the Campana-de-Coutou refuge.

• The return journey is made by the same route.
