Discovery of the Dracénois heritage starting from the heart of the town of the Folletière washhouse, we wander for more than 3 km along the Canal des Moulins which serves as our guide and leads us near the site of the Pierre de la Fée before reaching the Domaine of the Dragon.
We walk through the private vineyard on which we can admire the ruins of the first chapel of St Michel, those of the castrum and finally, an old pond.
Then, we disappear into the communal forest of Malmont to meet the cedar forest on a private domain, beautiful oak groves between shade and sun.
At the end of the route, we reach the botanical path, the Ford tower, the orientation table which once again allows you to appreciate the magnificent panorama and finally, the Malmont car park...
Then, we cross the road to return to the blue loop and its two belvederes before beginning the descent by taking the Coutelet mule track which leads to boulevard Joseph Collomp and brings us quite naturally to the starting point, the Folletière washhouse, source of freshness...
From the end of the Folletière washhouse. Take the paved Folletière path for 250 to 300 m, leave the paved road, be sure to turn left over the bridge. Go along the Canal des Moulins for 500 m. Be careful when crossing the dual carriageway. Follow the canal for 600 to 700 m. Be careful on your right, observe "la Pierre de la Fée".
30 to 40 m later, join Avenue de Montferrat for 300 m. Leave this avenue. Continue to follow the canal for 300 to 400 m. Cross the dual carriageway using the pedestrian crossing. Continue along the canal for 1 km through the Dracénoise countryside. Attention dangerous crossing of the secondary road. Turn immediately left, follow the canal on your left and take the private road to the Domaine du Dragon (water point provided by the Domaine).
Go around the building, continue for about 1 km to arrive at the site of the Saint-Michel chapel. Continue to reach the passage of the retractable electric fence. Turn left, start the walk along the vines for 200 m. Turn 45° to the left and go down to reach the Castrum site and its viewpoint (caution, retractable electric fence passage).
After the Castrum, on the left, go back and follow the route in the middle of the vineyard for about 2 km. Reach the edge of the wood (note the retractable electric fence passage), turn left, go up and follow the edge to the basin. Turn 45° to the right and rush into the communal forest. Follow the path for 1.5 km before reaching the crossing of the DFCI track. Cross and take the path opposite. Continue for 800 m to join the red path.
Cross straight ahead to reach the cedar forest on a private estate. Continue the path for 200 to 300 m. Climb for 100 m then cross a beautiful oak grove for 500 m. Join the botanical path and its didactic terminals. Continue up to the Tour du Gué, reach it by turning right. Go down to the Orientation table, reach the Malmont car park 200 m below. Cross the road, take the blue markings for 1100 m.
At the exit, turn left at 45°, follow the mule track du Coutelet (careful steep path shared with bicycles). Go down boulevard Joseph Collomp for 100 m. Continue right. Join the Canal des Moulins and return to the Folletière wash house.
