Pedestrian loop between Vézelay and Saint Père

Depart from the town of Vézelay, latitude 47.4632200 (N 47° 27’ 48”), longitude 3.7420800 (E 3° 44’ 31”)

• Vézelay

• From the square of the fairground, take Avallon direction and follow the road (D957) to exit the village. At the first turn, turn right onto the dirt road (white and red markings).
• Continue straight for 200 meters and turn left on the path that goes down to the village of Saint Père.

• Archaeological Museum

• Arrival at the first houses of the village, along a pond and take the first road on the right, at the end of this path go left, then straight.
• You enter the village from the south (on the left the D958, leads to the archaeological site of the Salt Fountains about 1 km), head to the church, you pass the ruins of the old church Saint Pierre (right) then in front of the archaeological museum and Notre Dame church next door.

• Church of Our Lady

• Continue straight until you cross four roads in the center of the village, take rue du Colombier in front of you and go to the road.
• Take a right (D958) along the road towards Asquins, about 400 meters and take a path on the left.

• Fontaine Saint Madeleine

• You arrive at the Sainte Madeleine fountain, turn left and go straight up the vineyards to reach the D951.
• Cross, go to the left to take the 1st way higher on the right. Climb this path to get to the foot of the southern ramparts, there you go left to join the fairground square (10 min) or right to go along the entire belt of the ramparts (east-north) and also reach the place du champ fair (25min)
