Saint-Sulpice-La-Forêt is renowned for its abbey Notre-Dame-du Nid-Au-Merle. Built in the 12th century, in the Romanesque style of its parent company Fontevrault, the abbey church is now in ruins. The remains, secured by the General Council, are open to the public (easy access on foot by the road that runs along the road of Liffré, leaving the town hall). Other elements, largely redesigned, also remain, such as the infirmary that houses the medical-educational institute the Baudrier, or the cloister transformed into a refectory in the 20th century.
