The Water and Power Trail

Depart from the town of Cros-de-Géorand, latitude 44.7925110 (N 44° 47’ 33”), longitude 4.1267610 (E 4° 7’ 36”)

• Village of Cros de Géorand

• Small village located in Ardèche Mountain at 1060 m altitude, it is an ideal starting point for nice walks and hikes.

• At the post "Chaumely", continue on the ridge on the right
• following the signpost direction Le Poyet (3,6km) Cros de Géorand (8,6 km)
• From the ridge, view of the Aeolian field on the other side
• of the Tauron Valley.
• Shortly after, view on the dam of La Palisse then the
• track becomes a small asphalt road.
• Arrival at the number 1 desk "Water and landscape"

• Cross cross of Montlaur

• At the crossing of the Croix de Montlaur,
• take the road on the left.
• At the hairpin, take the track on the right in the
• beech forest then shortly after left at the fork.
• Pass in a beautiful alley of beech trees
• level of the old farm of Sagnelongue.

• Leave the trail in crest for a path that goes down to the right by making several pins. Get down to an old
• bridge over the Gage and the ruins of the mill of Fédarié to go up in front
• to the road.

• Arrival at the old Pont sur le Gage

• The Poyet crossing

• At the post "Le Poyet", take the small road that goes up to Poyet
• following the direction La Chapelle (3,5km) Cros-de-Géorand (4,8km)
• Just before arriving at the hamlet of Poyet,
• take the path on the right going down
• gradually in a beautiful beech
• View of Lake Gage

• Arrival at the number 6 desk

• La Vernède and "Eau Vive"

• At the "La Vernède" post, go down on the right following: La Chapelle (1,7km) Cros-de-Géorand 3km
• Cross the bridge and go up in front
• Switch to number 7 desk

• Stream of Sagne Mort

• Then at the level of a spruce plantation (below
• Rochette), go down to the stream of Sagne-Morte and go back to La
• Chapel.

• At the post "La Chapelle", pass the gate and continue on
• the path that runs along a wall and crosses a meadow following:
• Cros-de-Géorand 1,5km
• Pass the stream then a gate and
• go up to the road. Cross it and
• find the village.
