At the heart of La Villette Park, one of the capital's biggest green spaces, not far from the Porte de la Villette Metro station in Paris' 19th arrondissement, is a unique place dedicated to scientific, technical and industrial culture. In the various exhibition and activities areas in the City of Science and Industry, not only can visitors discover the secrets of science, they can also enjoy some unusual and surprising experiences. By visiting the permanent exhibitions, you can explore such varied themes as the brain, energy, mathematics, the universe, sounds, light effects, transport and innovations. Little ones, accompanied by their parents, will appreciate the Children's City, with its two discovery areas, one for ages 2 -7 and one for ages 5-12, where they can have fun learning and sparking their curiosity!
At the City of Science and Industry, you can also be amazed by the shows at the planetarium, devoted to stars and astronomy, or enjoy the awesome spectacle of a screening at the Geode. This is a unique-looking building contains a cinema showing films on a giant IMAX 180° screen and in 3D, which is sure to appeal to thrill-seekers! And to recover from all that excitement, there's nothing quite like a tranquil walk in La Villette Park, along the peaceful Ourcq Canal!
For the Science Festival that takes place in October every year, the City of Science and Industry offers a great many activities, conferences, workshops and free shows.
