The story of the Commelles ponds in Oise goes back as far as the 13th century. They were created by the monks from the Abbey of Chaalis to be used as fish ponds. The four ponds cover an area of nearly 40 hectares at the heart of the Chantilly forest and the Oise-Pays de France Regional Nature Park, near the village of Coye-la-Forêt. A listed site, the ponds are among the forest's remarkable areas and are a good place for watching waterfowl. They also offer an ideal setting in which to recharge your batteries and enjoy pleasant walks along the various trails around the ponds.
