In Tourville-sur-Arques, Seine-Maritime, stands Miromesnil Castle, where Guy de Maupassant was born in 1850. The current château, built in the late 17th century, replaced the fortified castle that was destroyed in 1589. The rooms honour the memory of the Marquis de Miromesnil and the Normandy-born writer, two illustrious figures who made their mark on the place.

After crossing the stone bridge over the dry moat, discover this beautiful building sheltered by a superb listed forest of 3,500 beech trees, some of which are centuries-old and have grown to a height of 40 metres! The castle has two different façades, in the Henry IV and Louis XIII styles, and is adorned with two turrets.

In the "Remarkable Garden"("Jardin Remarquable") listed gardens, the two-hundred-year-old Lebanon cedar stands alongside magnolias, peonies, bellflowers and fruit trees. The magnificent kitchen garden, which combines flowers, vegetables and fruit in the same space, forms an aesthetic and harmonious whole. In the woods, you can admire an adorable 15th-century chapel, a listed building adorned with four polychrome stone statues as well as old and contemporary stained glass windows.

Guy de Maupassant's official birthplace, Miromesnil Castle is accessible via a stone bridge that overlooks the dry moat and consists of a main body flanked by two turrets. Extended by two pavilions on two levels, it is also surrounded by magnificent gardens enclosed by brick walls and dominated by a bicentennial cedar of Lebanon. Labeled Remarkable Garden, they are embellished with a 13th century vegetable garden and completely redesigned in the mid-1940s. During a stroll, visitors can discover the votive chapel built at the end of the 15th century in sandstone and flint which houses very beautiful polychrome statues, as well as 16th century stained glass windows.

Since the 2000s, the castle of Miromesnil has also offered high-end accommodation with the presence of guest rooms available year-round. The site can also be reserved for private or professional events such as seminars or weddings.

Located in the commune of Saint-Aubin-sur-Scie, in Seine-Maritime, Miromesnil Castle is an old historic house from the end of the 16th century. Listed historical monument, it is located on the site of an old castle destroyed in 1539.

Accessible by a stone bridge overlooking dry moats, it consists of a main house on two levels surrounded by turrets. The site reveals a south facade of Henry IV style, and a north facade Louis XIII style.
