In the south-west of the Cantal town of Cheylade, near departmental road 262, are two magnificent waterfalls whose sites are located in the heart of the Petite Rhue glacial valley, in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park.

Waterfall-lovers shouldn't miss the Sartre falls, a very beautiful, 32-metre-tall waterfall that you can admire in total safety from a metal structure equipped with observation and sensory discovery tools. In the area around the waterfall, there is an interpretation trail to help you understand the natural heritage and discover the various local tree species. Please note, you are strongly advised not to try and access the bottom of the waterfall as the path leading there is steep and dangerous.

Not far from there, still near the D262, towards the Pont de la Roche bridge, you can admire the remarkable Roche waterfall surrounded by unspoilt greenery.

200 metres from there is the Cascades Lake site, popular with fishermen and hikers. It offers superb views over the iconic peaks of the Mounts of Cantal!
