Laudinie - La Fouillade

This traditional stone house has been newly renovated and offers an exceptional level of comfort. There are three en-suite bedrooms, a modern well-equipped kitchen and a large living room. The bedrooms are colourful and inviting, with comfortable beds, new bedlinen and paintings by local artists. The large garden has several terraces and dining areas, with splendid views of the Viaur valley. It is situated at the edge of a small village with shops, cafes and a market offering the best of local produce. The historic village of Najac is 5 minutes away and there are many sites for picnics and swimming along the Viaur and Aveyron river gorges. The 'grands sites' of Figeac, Conques, Cordes, Saint-Cirque Lapopie and Albi - are all within easy driving distance. 'We took this house to our hearts. We were delighted with our stay, especially with the warm welcome we received from Steve and Eleanor. ' Manon and Gaspard, Lou and Gregoire.

Charming - Tranquil - Simple Luxury with heart! A real gem in the heart of Aveyron
This wonderful farmhouse is a gem of a find! It's been lovingly renovated to reveal the honest charm and character of it's original roots, down to it's wooden beams and lime-washed stone walls. It also has all the amenities and touches to assure a comfortable stay: En-suite bathrooms for all three of the charming bedrooms; a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, and the wood burning stove in the main living/dining room makes even the coldest evenings the toastiest and coziest one could hope for in this romantic setting. I should also mention the beds... Great mattresses... And dressed with soft linens – simplistic luxury with heart. Situated just a skip from the small village center and some beautiful local countryside. Eleanor and Steve guided us on some magnificent walks in the area. The walk up to the river gorge is highly recommended for it's magic and majesty. And the local medieval villages in the area are picturesque and historically fascinating. We really appreciated the beauty and tranquility that Eleanor and Steve have carved out here for their guests, and I highly recommend their wonderful cottage. We didn't want to leave – and felt more connected and enriched by our experience.

Great Week
I recently stayed at the above-mentioned cottage for a week. The bedrooms were very comfortable and each had a heater for the chilly mornings (It was April) and an en suite shower and toilet. The living room accommodation was also very comfortable and had a log-burning stove, which came in very useful. As we were on a retreat we had our meals supplied and the food was excellent. The garden was very extensive with a mixture of the cultivated and the wild. Eleanor and Steve, whom I had never met before, were friendly and helpful. All in all I found the whole experience wonderful and, in fact, felt quite reluctant to leave.
