Discover the circus of Cilaos during this guided hike to the beautiful site of La Chapelle! You will meet your guide in the town of Cilaos. Located northeast of the cirque of the same name, the city is known for its thermal activities hot springs of volcanic origin, and the starting point of many trails to discover the riches of Reunion! Passing through the agricultural districts, you will go to the start of the La Chapelle trail. Along the way, you will enjoy a view of the surrounding landscapes, such as the Piton des Neiges, the highest point on Reunion Island (3,069 m), but also the Gros Morne, the Taïbit, the Grand Bénare and the islet of Cordes at its footThe trail begins with a steep slope leading to the bottom of the ravine, in the heart of the casuarina forest. The route involves crossing several small streams. You will then go up to arrive at the Bras Rouge River; and discover the narrow fault carved into the rock. You will then evolve in the Red Arm River to the foot of the cliff. If the water level allows, you can enter the gorge to see more closely this mineral corridor, a true natural cathedral. Then, you will take a break for lunch (picnic not included) by the river, before returning to the starting point again.
