Located in the town of Annecy, in Haute-Savoie, the Château d'Aléry is a former ancient fortified house that was fortified in the 11th century and completely rebuilt in the 15th century. The majority of the buildings visible today are the remains of the 15th and 16th century manor house and take the form of two square quadrangular main buildings flanked by a polygonal staircase turret in the interior corner.
Decorated with mullioned windows redone at the beginning of the 20th century, the Château d'Aléry still has very beautiful ceilings, as well as several monumental fireplaces. Private property, it is today inhabited by the heirs of Louis Aussedat, its owner at the beginning of the 20th century.
