Charming town of Charente-Maritime, on the Côte de Beauté, Breuillet takes place in the heart of the peninsula of Arvert, in Royannais. It is located seventy kilometers from the very touristy town of La Rochelle, not far from Royan, Chaillevette or Saint-Palais-sur-Mer.
Occupied since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the traces of human occupation found on site, the territory of Breuillet developed mainly in the Middle Ages, despite the ravages of the first Viking invasions. Known in particular for its salt production activity, the town was modernized in the 19th century, in particular with the sanitation of the marshes.
Today, Breuillet is a seaside resort appreciated for its calm and the charm of its architecture.
