For anyone looking to learn more about the young poet, Charleville-Mézières, his hometown, is a "prerequisite". Housed in the old village mill, Arthur Rimbaud Museum traces the general public the life and work of the poet, primarily through the presentation of objects, photographic reproductions and facsimile various manuscripts, drawings or caricatures reminiscent Rimbaud and his family. Open to the creation, he frequently hosts exhibitions of contemporary artists. He participates with the public library, to enrich its collection of original documents and the books on the poet funds. The museum allows everyone to experience the early years of the poet in Charleville, a child in college, letters to his teacher Izambard, his first contact with Paul Verlaine and the literary world, his fugues, his travels and his life in Abyssinia.
