Dardilly is a hilly town renowned for its pleasant lifestyle in the countryside in the northwest of the city of Lyon in the Rhone department.
The town has a rich and ancient history. Dardilly name is mentioned for the first time at the end of the tenth century. Its Gallo-Roman origins, it remains only the remains of the aqueduct Brévenne, built by the Emperor Claudius in the middle of the first century AD. During the Middle Ages, the parish is mentioned for the first time in 1133, in an act of restitution Bérard, Macon bishop in the church of Ainay. Parsonge Manor is a country home built in the late sixteenth century and sold to the municipality of Dardilly in the late twentieth century. It has a fountain, Fountain Parsonge face up to the entrance of the mansion.
Dardilly enjoys an ideal location surrounded by nature, with 173 hectares of forest, 500 hectares of natural areas and 646 hectares of agricultural areas.
