Charming village in the Oise region Hauts-de-France, Fontaine-Chaalis takes place sixty kilometers of Beauvais and its cathedral on the edge of the forest of Ermenonville. It is located near Senlis Rosières, and is considered the third municipality of the department in terms of area.
Formerly dependence of the abbey of Saint-Denis, the territory of Fontaine-Chaalis developed since the Middle Ages. He knows a relatively peaceful history over the centuries, developing the nineteenth century with the installation of General Kellermann, who rebuilt the castle to be closer to the Bonaparte family. In 1974, the town was sadly illustrated by becoming the scene of the deadliest accident in civil aviation, with the crash of a Turkish Airlines plane with 346 people on board.
Today Fontaine-Chaalis continues to charm visitors with the charm of its landscapes as well as its architectural and historical heritage.
