On the Napoleon Road, in the heart of Matheysin plateau 800 meters above sea level and surrounded by the summits of the Vercors and the Ecrins, the town of La Mure is the largest town in southern Isère, it lies at the gates of Provence. It has its gastronomic specialties with Murcon, a cooking sausage flavored with caraway (wild fennel), ravioli Matheysines which are topped with potatoes, herbs and onions, and the pie Muroise with pork meat veal marinated with herbs, olives and wild mushrooms. These products are local to find in shops and every Monday morning on market stalls La Mure the heart of the old town.
