City of the urban community Lille Métropole, Lambersart takes place in the Hauts-de-France, in the department of Nord. The commune, bordered by the Deûle and the Bois de Boulogne, is located not far from Lille, Lomme or Saint-André-lez-Lille.
Known at the beginning of the twelfth century, the commune of Lambersart was formerly a simple agricultural village on the banks of the Weppes. However, it was not until the 19th century that it developed rapidly in the shadow of Lille. Long industrial city, the city has preserved several vestiges of this economic past through factories of textiles or laundries.
A garden city in the 1930s, Lambersart is nowadays a pleasant city and appreciated for its unique setting, which earned it four flower awards in the French Flower Towns and Villages competition.
